I don't post many layouts these days but I am keeping busy with my craft. This LO was fun as I did some sewing on it. At least my sewing machine is getting some use once in awhile. I mostly used Cocoa Daisy's and Gossamer Blue's July kits. They really worked well together without having any duplicates between them. I did not journal on this page as it is one of many of that weekend and I have already documented about it on another page.

Layout Week - the Finale
I did it! Can I get a huzzah? I have completed my fifth and final layout from Kathryn's week of sketches. I loved the way she had the white edges around her background papers so I did have to scrap lift that. Thanks Kathryn. This layout for some strange reason took me 2 days to complete. I stared and I stared and it didn't magically do anything yesterday so today I had to do it myself. I have enjoyed this week a lot. I had to think a lot, that hurt. But hey, I'm 5 layouts ahead of the game for it.

Layout Week Sketch 4 - Vineyards
Hello again today. I decided to catch up on the layouts and hammer out the fourth in the weeks challenges by Kathryn. I really enjoyed this sketch as I had to do some thinking, LOL. I had a 4x6 portrait and 2@3x4 landscapes. So I took the sketch, turned it 45 degrees but kept the embellishment clusters and title placement the same. I just got this new paper pack by Stampin Up the other day, it is called This and That Epic Day and ripped into it for this layout. Hope this inspires some of you to either scrapbook a layout or drink wine. Either is good, but not so much together.
Layout Week with Kathryn, Sketch 3
This was a fun layout to do. Once I saw the sketch on Kathryn's blog I knew I wanted to try this for the starburst. I took vellum and cut along the lines I drew. Then after distressing all the edges I sewed up the middle of each ray attaching the vellum to my cardstock underneath. I thought a picture of my son's new motorcycle he had texted me was the perfect subject to scrap for the background starburst. The stickers used are from Leeza Gibbons for Prima, Wishes and Dreams. Love that sticker sheet. Again, please go check out what Kathryn did on her blog as well as what others are doing with this sketch.

Layout Week Sketch Two - Baby Dog
I am back with another one of Kathryn's sketches. I used a 6x6 paper pack by My Minds Eye for this one called Blink of an Eye. I thought the soft colours showed the softness of Rigg's colouring. I did not attach the quadrants to a 12x12 sheet of paper as I put it into a 4@6x6 page protector. To show that this is to be considered as a whole layout I used the washi, arrows, veneer hearts, and the accent colours and papers in 3 of the 4 quadrants. Hope if you like it you will go over and see what Kathryn did with her sketch.

Layout Week with Kathryn
Time for me to post another layout and again it is due to a challenge on the scrap beach. I just loved this sketch to work with. I made my background stripes by masking off the cardstock and using just versamark. I switched up the sketch a bit for the 4x6 photo I wanted to use, so where the title card should be is my photo and I stayed true to the sketch by using a polaroid but using it for my journaling. I did feel my layout needed something else so I added an embellishment cluster to the upper right. Out of respect for my son and his friend I have blocked their faces and the journaling from the post. I hope you can still see the outcome despite that. Thanks for looking, and thanks Kathryn for a fun week ahead.

Pop Culture Layout Challenge
You might as well grab a coffee or a drink while the cobwebs are dusted on this blog. Ok, better? Can you see clearer now? I know it has been forever and ever, but...... No buts, I just haven't been on here. Well, I am here now thanks to one of my favourite layout challenge bloggers, Kathryn. Click on her name to read about it or grab another drink while I explain. The challenge was to do a page on pop culture. The first thing that came to my mind was Big Bang Theory. As the journaling states in the little orange envelope big Bang Theory is the only sitcom I watch when I need a laugh. My favourite tv shows are mystery/thriller like Dexter, the Following, Criminal Minds and Revenge. I used my favourite colours in this layout in their brighter forms to showcase the happiness this show brings me when I watch it. Thanks Kathryn for yet another great challenge, hope for many more.
